The Town Hall Tower is one of Rothenburg ob der Tauber's most iconic landmarks, offering visitors a chance to see the city from above. The tower is part of the historic Town Hall complex, which blends Gothic and Renaissance architecture. Climbing the 220 steps rewards you with a sweeping vista of the old town's red-tiled roofs, church spires, and the surrounding countryside of the Tauber Valley. On a clear day, you can see for miles across the rolling hills and vineyards. The tower itself is narrow, so the ascent is a bit of a squeeze, but the view from the top is well worth the effort. Inside, you'll also find a small exhibition about the tower's history and the city's development.
Don't miss
- Panoramic view of Rothenburg's old town and the Tauber Valley
- Close-up look at the Town Hall's Gothic and Renaissance architecture
- Small historical exhibition inside the tower
