Nuremberg Old Town is a beautifully preserved medieval district that feels like stepping into a storybook. Its winding cobblestone lanes are lined with colorful half-timbered houses, many rebuilt after World War II with meticulous attention to historical detail. The heart of the Old Town is the Hauptmarkt, a bustling square dominated by the Gothic Frauenkirche and the famous Schöner Brunnen (Beautiful Fountain). From there, you can wander past artisan shops, cozy beer halls, and the historic Albrecht Dürer House. The Pegnitz River splits the Old Town, crossed by charming stone bridges like the Fleischbrücke. Don't miss the Tiergärtnertorplatz, a picturesque square with a medieval gate and views of the castle. The area is also known for its Christmas market, one of the most famous in Germany, but it's delightful year-round.
