The Altendorf megalithic tomb is a Neolithic burial chamber made of large stone slabs, dating to around 3500–2800 BCE. Located in a quiet field near the village of Altendorf (part of Naumburg), it is one of the few such tombs in northern Hesse. Visitors can walk up to the structure and see the capstone resting on upright supports. The site is freely accessible and provides a tangible connection to the area's earliest farmers. It's a quick, contemplative stop for anyone interested in prehistory.
