The Klinke is a medieval watchtower perched on a hill in the southern part of Magdeburg, part of the city's former fortifications. Built of brick in the 15th century, it stands about 25 meters tall and served as a lookout point to spot approaching enemies. Today, visitors can climb the tower's narrow spiral staircase to a viewing platform that offers sweeping vistas of the Elbe River, the city skyline, and the surrounding countryside. The tower is set in a small park with benches and information panels about Magdeburg's defensive history. It's a quiet, off-the-beaten-path spot that rewards those who make the short climb with a unique perspective on the city.
