St. Nicolai (St. Nicholas' Church) is one of Lüneburg's three main medieval churches, located near the market square. Its most striking feature is the tall, slender spire that dominates the skyline. Inside, the church is a masterpiece of Gothic architecture with a bright, airy nave supported by elegant pillars. The high altar, created in the 15th century, is richly carved and painted, depicting scenes from the life of Christ. The church also contains several side altars, a beautiful baptismal font, and colorful stained-glass windows. The atmosphere is serene, offering a quiet retreat from the bustling streets. Visitors can climb the tower for panoramic views of the old town.
