St. Thomas Church (Thomaskirche) is a must-visit for music lovers and history enthusiasts. This Gothic-style church, rebuilt in the 15th century, is where Johann Sebastian Bach served as cantor from 1723 until his death in 1750. His tomb is located beneath the altar. The church is also the home of the St. Thomas Boys' Choir (Thomanerchor), one of the oldest and most famous boys' choirs in the world, founded in 1212. Visitors can attend regular choir performances, especially on weekends. The interior features a striking Baroque organ, stained glass windows, and a peaceful atmosphere. The church's spire is a landmark in Leipzig's city center.
