Zeiss-Planetarium Jena is a historic and technologically advanced venue that has been inspiring stargazers since 1926. As the oldest continuously operating planetarium in the world, it combines tradition with cutting-edge projection technology. The current system uses a Zeiss Starmaster projector and a fulldome digital system to create immersive shows about astronomy, space exploration, and natural science. The dome itself is 23 meters in diameter, providing a stunning 360-degree experience. Visitors can enjoy a variety of programs, from live-guided tours of the night sky to pre-recorded shows on black holes, the solar system, and beyond. The planetarium also hosts laser light shows and music events.
