JenTower dominates Jena's skyline as a striking modern landmark. Rising 159 meters, it was completed in 1972 and originally served as a university building. Today, visitors can take an elevator to the observation deck for sweeping 360-degree views of the city, the Saale River valley, and the rolling hills of Thuringia. On clear days, the view extends to the Thuringian Forest. The tower also houses a restaurant and event spaces, making it a popular spot for both daytime sightseeing and evening outings. Its distinctive cylindrical shape and glass facade make it easily recognizable from afar.
