Weinsberg is a charming town in the Heilbronn region, famous for its dramatic hilltop castle ruin, Burg Weinsberg, and the legendary story of the 'Treue Weiber' (Faithful Wives). According to the 12th-century tale, when the castle was under siege, the women were allowed to leave with whatever they could carry – they carried their husbands on their backs, saving them. The castle ruins now offer a fascinating glimpse into medieval life and stunning views over the town and surrounding vineyards. The old town below features a picturesque market square with a historic town hall and half-timbered buildings. Weinsberg is also a center for wine, with numerous vineyards producing excellent wines, and the annual Weiberfest celebrates the town's unique legend with festivities and wine.
