Altraderach Castle is a picturesque ruin perched on a hill above the town of Langenargen, just south of Friedrichshafen. The castle was built in the 13th century and later fell into disrepair, but its remaining walls and tower offer a romantic glimpse into the past. The site is a popular hiking destination, with trails leading up through vineyards and forests. Once at the top, visitors are rewarded with sweeping views of Lake Constance, the Swiss Alps, and the surrounding countryside. The ruin itself is free to explore, and there are informational panels detailing its history. It's an ideal spot for a quiet picnic or a sunset photo. The nearby town of Langenargen adds a charming lakeside stop with its harbor and restaurants.
