Schloss Benrath is a stunning rococo palace built between 1755 and 1770 for Elector Carl Theodor. The palace is a masterpiece of symmetry and elegance, with a central corps de logis flanked by two wings. The interior features ornate stucco work, frescoes, and period furnishings that evoke the splendor of the court. The surrounding park, designed in the English landscape style, includes formal French gardens, a lake, and winding paths. Visitors can explore three museums: the Palace Museum (historical rooms), the Museum of Natural History (regional flora and fauna), and the Museum of European Garden Art (garden design history). The palace is a UNESCO World Heritage candidate and a popular day-trip destination.
