Landschaftspark Duisburg-Nord is a stunning example of industrial heritage repurposed into a public park. Once a sprawling coal and steel production plant, the site now invites visitors to explore its colossal blast furnaces, ore bunkers, and gas holders. You can climb the old ore bunkers on a via ferrata route, dive in a converted gasometer (one of Europe's largest indoor dive centers), or simply wander through gardens that have reclaimed the industrial landscape. At night, British artist Jonathan Park's light installation 'The Tiger and the Turtle' illuminates the park, creating a magical atmosphere. The park also hosts concerts, theater performances, and a popular summer cinema. It's a place where nature and industry coexist in a hauntingly beautiful way.
