The Electoral Palace (Kurfürstliches Schloss) in Bonn is a magnificent Baroque palace that once served as the residence of the Prince-Electors of Cologne. Built in the early 18th century, its striking facade stretches along the Hofgarten park, creating an impressive urban ensemble. Today, the palace houses the main building of the University of Bonn, including lecture halls, administrative offices, and the university's main library. Visitors can stroll through the grand courtyard and admire the ornate details of the architecture, such as the central dome and the elaborate portal. The adjacent Hofgarten is a popular green space where students and locals relax. While the interior is largely used for academic purposes, parts of the palace are open to the public, including the grand staircase and the Aula (great hall), which hosts concerts and events. The palace's blend of history and modern university life makes it a unique landmark.
