The Margrave Fountain (Markgrafenbrunnen) is a prominent landmark in Bayreuth's city center, located on the Maximilianstraße pedestrian zone. Built in 1709, the fountain features a central obelisk surrounded by statues of four margraves who ruled the Principality of Bayreuth: Christian Ernst, Georg Wilhelm, Friedrich, and Christian. The fountain also includes allegorical figures representing the four seasons and the four cardinal virtues. The basin is adorned with masks and shells.
