Aachen Town Hall is a striking Gothic structure built between 1330 and 1349 on the site of Charlemagne's former palace. Its grand facade and ornate interiors reflect the city's medieval wealth and civic pride. The town hall houses the Coronation Hall, where 31 Holy Roman Emperors held banquets after their coronation in the cathedral. Today, it serves as the seat of the mayor and city council, and hosts the annual Charlemagne Prize ceremony, awarded for contributions to European unity. Visitors can tour the historic halls, admire the 19th-century frescoes, and climb the tower for panoramic views.
