Svetitskhoveli Cathedral stands as a masterpiece of medieval Georgian architecture in the ancient capital Mtskheta. Visitors enter through a grand stone gateway into a vast interior adorned with faded frescoes and a towering iconostasis. The cathedral's name means 'Life-Giving Pillar,' referencing a miraculous wooden pillar said to have floated to the site. Pilgrims and tourists alike are drawn to its spiritual aura and the tomb of King Vakhtang Gorgasali. The surrounding courtyard offers a peaceful retreat with views of the Aragvi and Mtkvari rivers.
