Arch 22 is a prominent landmark in Banjul, built to mark the military coup of July 22, 1994, that brought Yahya Jammeh to power. The arch stands at the entrance to the capital and features a striking design with a large central arch and a statue of a soldier. Visitors can climb to the top for panoramic views of Banjul, the Gambia River, and the coastline. The site also includes a small museum detailing the history of the coup and the arch's construction.
