Place Plumereau, often called 'Place Plume' by locals, is the heart of the historic Vieux-Tours district. This pedestrian-only square is famous for its well-preserved half-timbered houses dating from the 15th and 16th centuries, which lean at picturesque angles. The square is paved with cobblestones and filled with outdoor tables from surrounding cafes and restaurants, making it a perfect spot for people-watching. By day, it's a relaxed place to enjoy a coffee or a glass of wine; by night, it buzzes with energy as diners and drinkers fill the terraces. Street musicians and artists often perform here, adding to the vibrant ambiance. The square is also a gateway to the narrow, winding streets of Vieux-Tours, which are lined with boutiques, galleries, and historic buildings.
