Strasbourg Cathedral, officially the Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Strasbourg, is a stunning example of Rayonnant Gothic architecture. Its single spire, completed in 1439, soared to 142 meters, making it the tallest building in the world until the 19th century. The facade is adorned with intricate sculptures and a large rose window. Inside, the astronomical clock (dating from the 16th century) puts on a daily show at 12:30 PM, with moving figures and a rooster that crows. The cathedral also houses a beautiful pulpit and stained glass windows. Visitors can climb the 332 steps to the platform for panoramic views of the city and the Rhine River. The building's pink sandstone glows warmly in the evening light, making it a must-see landmark.
