Pont Médard is a picturesque stone bridge that spans the Odet River, connecting the Episcopal city (around the cathedral) to the Ducal city (the medieval commercial center). From the bridge, you can see the river flow beneath, with half-timbered houses leaning over the water on either side. It's a favorite spot for photographers and romantics, especially at sunset when the old town glows. The bridge itself is narrow and pedestrian-friendly, with a low stone parapet perfect for leaning and watching the world go by. On summer evenings, locals gather here to chat and enjoy the cool breeze off the river.

Don't miss

  • Stand at the center for a classic view of the Odet River and the cathedral spires.
  • Watch kayakers and small boats pass under the arches.
  • Photograph the reflection of half-timbered houses in the water.
  • Cross the bridge to explore the Rue Kéréon shopping district.
  • Visit in early morning for a misty, quiet atmosphere.
