Mokonuts is a special place run by the most wonderful people. The food is beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious (don’t skip dessert!). The wine selection is great and there’s always something new on by the glass. And the warm, enthusiastic service makes the whole experience. The photos simply don’t do it justice, you have to go and see it yourself.
We went for lunch on the recommendation of a friend who has lived in Paris 12 years. We had the butternut squash cream soup with chunks of mushroom and pieces of goat cheese. the soup was served before the goat cheese had melted so we got a burst of flavor when we had a spoon of flavor when we hit a bit of cheese. the main was salmon that melt in your mouth; it wasn't dried; I would have guessed that it was sous vide'd except that there was a minimal delay in serving the dish. the salmon covered the best Brussel sprouts that I had ever had. Dessert was a coconut flavored pie with complex crust. This meal was one of the meal highlights of 19 days in France.
