Pont de la Tournelle is a graceful stone arch bridge connecting the Left Bank (Saint Victor neighborhood) to Île Saint-Louis in central Paris. Built in the 1920s, it replaced earlier wooden bridges and features a distinctive central arch and a tall pillar topped with a statue of Saint Genevieve, the patron saint of Paris. The bridge is a favorite spot for photographers and romantics, offering one of the best views of Notre-Dame Cathedral, especially at sunset when the cathedral's towers glow golden. Walking across, you'll feel the gentle vibration of traffic and see riverboats gliding below. The bridge's elegant curves and stonework blend seamlessly with the historic surroundings. It's less crowded than nearby Pont Neuf, making it a peaceful place to pause and take in the Seine's beauty. On the Left Bank side, you'll find the Institut du Monde Arabe and the bustling Rue Monge market street.
