Palais Lascaris is a splendid example of 17th-century aristocratic architecture in the heart of Vieux Nice. Originally built for the Lascaris family, this Baroque palace features ornate frescoes, gilded stucco, and period furnishings that evoke the opulence of Nice's nobility. Today, it serves as a museum dedicated to antique musical instruments, displaying a remarkable collection of violins, harpsichords, guitars, and other instruments from the 16th to 19th centuries. Visitors can explore the grand salons, a chapel, and a pharmacy that once belonged to the building. The palace's central staircase and painted ceilings are highlights. The museum offers audio guides that bring the instruments to life with recorded music. Its location on a narrow street in Old Nice makes it a cool retreat from the bustling Cours Saleya market.
