Cathédrale Saint-Pierre de Montpellier is a striking Gothic cathedral located in the heart of the city's historic district. Its most recognizable feature is the massive fortified porch, flanked by two enormous conical towers that give it a castle-like appearance. Inside, the cathedral boasts soaring vaulted ceilings, beautiful stained glass windows, and a serene atmosphere. Originally built as a monastery church in the 14th century, it was elevated to cathedral status in 1536. The interior houses notable artworks, including a 17th-century organ and intricate chapels. Visitors can explore the nave, admire the rose window, and step into the cloister adjacent to the cathedral, which now houses the Faculty of Medicine.
