Cathédrale Saint-Jean-Baptiste, also known as Lyon Cathedral, is a masterpiece of Gothic architecture located in the heart of Vieux Lyon. Construction spanned nearly three centuries, from 1180 to 1476, resulting in a blend of early and late Gothic styles. The façade features intricate rose windows and sculpted portals. Inside, the highlight is the 14th-century astronomical clock, which still displays the date, moon phases, and positions of the sun and moon. Visitors can also admire the medieval stained glass and the peaceful cloister. The cathedral remains an active place of worship, so respectful attire is advised.
