The Circuit de la Sarthe is a semi-permanent race track that has been the stage for the 24 Hours of Le Mans since 1923. The circuit is unique because it uses public roads that are closed for the race, mixed with a permanent racing section. At over 13 kilometers (8.4 miles) long, it is one of the longest circuits in the world. The track is famous for its high-speed straights, especially the Mulsanne Straight, and challenging corners like the Porsche Curves. Even when no race is on, you can drive or cycle parts of the public roads that make up the circuit. The nearby Le Mans Museum (Musée des 24 Heures) is a must-visit for motorsport fans, showcasing historic cars and memorabilia. The atmosphere during race week in June is electric, with fans from around the globe.
