Butin Beach is Honfleur's main sandy beach, situated about a kilometer east of the old town along the coast. Unlike the bustling harborfront, this beach offers a more relaxed seaside experience. The fine golden sand stretches for nearly a kilometer, backed by a promenade and grassy dunes. It's a popular spot for families, sunbathers, and those looking to take a dip in the English Channel. The water is generally calm, though tides can expose large sandy flats at low tide. Facilities include public showers, restrooms, and a nearby parking area. From the beach, you can see the distinctive silhouette of the Normandy Bridge in the distance. The beach is also a starting point for coastal walks towards the cliffs of the Côte de Grâce.

Don't miss

  • Swim in the calm waters during summer
  • Walk along the promenade with views of the Normandy Bridge
  • Build sandcastles on the wide sandy flats at low tide
  • Enjoy a picnic on the grassy dunes
