Château de Bizy is a grand classical château located in Vernon, just a few kilometers from Giverny. Built in 1740, it is often called the 'Little Versailles' due to its refined architecture and expansive grounds. The château was once owned by the Duke of Penthièvre and later by King Louis-Philippe, giving it a royal pedigree. Visitors can tour the lavishly furnished interiors, which include period furniture, paintings, and tapestries. The surrounding park features formal French gardens, a large pond, and a water cascade. The estate also houses a collection of horse-drawn carriages in the former stables. Compared to the bustling Monet sites, Château de Bizy offers a more serene and aristocratic experience, showcasing the opulence of 18th-century French nobility. The gardens are particularly lovely in spring and summer, with blooming flowers and manicured hedges.
