Citadelle de Bastia

The Citadelle de Bastia, also known as Terra Nova, is the oldest quarter of the city, perched on a rocky promontory overlooking the sea. This fortified neighborhood was built by the Genoese in the 14th century and later expanded, featuring a maze of narrow cobblestone streets, stone houses, and impressive ramparts.
