Plage de la Salis is one of Antibes' most beloved public beaches, offering a long stretch of golden sand just a short walk from the old town. The water is remarkably clear and shallow, making it ideal for families with young children or anyone who wants a gentle swim. The beach is backed by a promenade lined with pine trees and a few casual cafes, where you can grab a drink or a simple lunch. Views across the bay take in the ramparts of the old city and the distant hills of the Cap d'Antibes. Unlike some Riviera beaches, Salis is free and public, though it can get crowded in July and August. The atmosphere is relaxed and unpretentious, with a mix of locals and tourists. Snorkeling is popular around the rocky edges, where small fish dart among the rocks. Sunsets here are particularly lovely, with the sky turning shades of pink and orange over the water.
