Forum Marinum is Turku's premier maritime museum, located along the Aura River and featuring a fleet of historic vessels moored at its docks. The indoor exhibitions trace Finland's naval and merchant shipping history, from Viking-era boats to modern icebreakers, with interactive displays and model ships. The real highlight is boarding the museum's ships, including the majestic barque Suomen Joutsen and the minesweeper Keihässalmi. Visitors can explore engine rooms, crew quarters, and bridges, gaining a tangible sense of life at sea. The museum also hosts temporary exhibitions on maritime themes.
