Tammerkoski is a set of rapids that flow through the heart of Tampere, connecting Lake Näsijärvi to Lake Pyhäjärvi. In the 19th century, the rushing water powered factories that turned Tampere into Finland's industrial powerhouse. Today, the rapids are a peaceful urban oasis, flanked by red-brick mill buildings, pedestrian bridges, and cascading waterfalls. Visitors can stroll along the banks, cross the historic bridges, and admire the juxtaposition of nature and industrial heritage.
