Kokemäenjoki is the lifeblood of Pori, winding 121 km from Lake Liekovesi to the Gulf of Bothnia. The river's banks are lined with walking and cycling paths, offering peaceful views of the water and passing boats. In summer, locals and visitors alike enjoy kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, and fishing for salmon and trout. The river passes through the city center, with several bridges and parks along its course. Winter brings ice fishing and skating on frozen sections. Birdwatchers can spot swans, ducks, and ospreys near the river's mouth.
