Kuopio Cathedral, completed in 1815, is a masterpiece of neoclassical architecture designed by Carl Ludvig Engel. Its prominent green dome and tall bell tower are visible from across the city. Inside, the church is light and airy, with whitewashed walls, a simple altar, and beautiful stained-glass windows. The cathedral serves as the seat of the Diocese of Kuopio and hosts regular services and concerts. Visitors can enjoy a moment of quiet reflection or climb the tower for panoramic views of the city and Lake Kallavesi.
