Nechisar National Park, located between Lake Abaya and Lake Chamo in southern Ethiopia, offers a quintessential African safari experience. The park's name means 'white grass' in Amharic, referring to the vast plains that support large populations of Burchell's zebra, Grant's gazelle, and other mammals. Visitors can spot crocodiles and hippos along the lakeshores, while birdwatchers delight in species like the fish eagle and marabou stork. The scenic landscapes, including the 'Bridge of God' isthmus, make it a photographer's paradise.

Don't miss

  • Game drives on the plains to see zebras, gazelles, and warthogs
  • Boat trip on Lake Chamo to view large crocodiles and hippos
  • Birdwatching for endemic and migratory species like the Nechisar nightjar
