Luxury ambiance at the terrace combined with fine dining. I had the venison tartar and the halibut. Both dishes were very tasty. The service was friendly and attentive. It's not cheap, but ok, considering the ambiance.
The food was unquestionably quite good. We had the dumplings, the caviar trio, and duck and beef fillet for the main. All were high quality. The main points against this restaurant: 1) The main course took an unusually long time to come out to us approximately 90 minutes between seating and receiving our main course. This was only acknowledged by the server once the food came by saying, unsatisfyingly, "it's late, but good things take time." 2) The website implies and several reviews mentioned there would be live music. We went on a Friday night and there was no live music. 3) The website ambiguously states the restaurant has been "recognized" by Michelin. To be clear: this restaurant has not received a Michelin star.
the restaurant is very good. the snacks are very tasty and very good portions and the prices are good, I wouldn't say that they are very big, I really recommend this restaurant
Our group was of 4 people. We had the tartare, the blini royal, the salmon-shrimp dumplings, the duck fillet, two beef fillets, the pavlova and pineapple dream. To begin with, our experience was overall wonderful. From service to food, Tchaikovsky and it's team did not disappoint in any aspect. Our server, Vlad was insightful, helpful and humourous. He certainly insured that our visit to Tchaikovsky memorable with his quick jokes and careful explanations of the dishes. For the food, each dish was a delight on its own. Our starters, the blini royal and the beef tartare, were beautifully presented and tasted incredible. For someone who doesn't eat caviar often, the blini royal was a nice treat that allowed us to tasted a bit of each of the three caviar varieties present. The beef tartare was not just well put together, but the flavours of the ingredients complimented each other extremely well. The brioche that came with it was soft and paired very well with the tartare. I would certainly get the tartare when we visit again and would recommend trying it to anyone else interested in it. Our mains were equally, if not more, incredible. I personally had the duck fillet and at first sight it is an incredibly beautiful plate to look at. Taste wise, it was incredible. The duck was perfectly cooked, staying soft and flavourful, almost absorbing the demi glace surrounding it. The carrot puree was packed with flavour, but not overwhelmingly so that you couldn't taste the rest of the components. The plate as a whole was genuinely well put together. On a second visit, it may be hard to choose something else, with how good the duck was. For the desserts, we shared the pavlova and the pineapple dream. The pavlova had a beautiful presentation, that I wish I recorded, leaving a great impression on us. Both dishes looked and tasted absolutely phenomenal, with beautiful balance and incredible flavour. I personally enjoyed the basil ice cream that complimented the pineapple dream beautifully. Overall, our group left Tchaikovsky satisfied with both great food and memories. We would love to extend a special thanks to Chef Denis, the entirety of Back of House, Vlad and Front of House for the marvelous experience they organized for us at Tchaikovsky. We can't wait to come by and visit again, and we highly recommend coming by even for a quick bite.
