Raekoja plats, or Town Hall Square, has been Tallinn's central marketplace and gathering place since the Middle Ages. Today, it's a lively hub ringed by charming 15th-century merchant houses with colorful facades. The square is dominated by the Gothic Town Hall, and in summer, outdoor cafes spill onto the cobblestones. Visitors can watch street performers, browse souvenir stalls, or simply soak in the historic ambiance. During winter, a Christmas market transforms the square into a festive wonderland.

Don't miss

  • Photograph the iconic pastel-colored buildings that frame the square.
  • Sip a coffee at an outdoor cafe and watch the world go by.
  • Visit the square during the Christmas market for mulled wine and handcrafted gifts.
