Pika Jala Varavatorn, or the Long Leg Gate Tower, is a well-preserved medieval gateway that once guarded the entrance to Tallinn's upper town, Toompea. Located at the foot of Pikk jalg (Long Leg) street, the tower is a striking example of 14th-century defensive architecture. Visitors can climb the narrow stairs to the top for sweeping views over the red-tiled roofs of the Old Town and the Baltic Sea beyond. The surrounding cobblestone streets are lined with artisan shops and cafes, making it a charming spot to pause and soak in the city's historic atmosphere. Unlike some of Tallinn's more crowded landmarks, this tower offers a quieter, more intimate experience of the city's medieval past.
