Sinimäe is a small neighbourhood and settlement located at the foot of the Sinimäed Hills, just west of Sillamäe. It serves as a convenient starting point for exploring the Blue Hills, a ridge of three ancient hills formed from limestone and sandstone. The area is steeped in history, particularly from the fierce battles of World War II, and several memorials and cemeteries dot the landscape. Visitors can wander through the serene countryside, visit the Sinimäe War Museum, or hike up to the hills for views and reflection. The settlement itself is quiet, with a few local homes and a sense of rural calm.

Don't miss

  • Sinimäe War Museum with exhibits on the Battle of Tannenberg Line
  • War memorials and cemeteries commemorating soldiers from multiple nations
  • Access to hiking trails on the Sinimäed Hills with interpretive panels
