What a gem. It felt a bit like having pie in your grandma's living room. I was looking for a local quick bite. Super friendly staff that explains the different options and gave recommendations. Sweet pies with jam, almond cream and more. Then the savoury pies go from salmon / spinach to meat and mushroom versions. They don't have every option on the menu daily, but plenty to choose from. I recommend trying their fresh juices.
They don’t warm the pies up. The iced-latte was sweet, although I asked not to add any syrup. It’s self-service. They have a ₍ᐢ. ̫.ᐢ₎ too! 🐱
I went here with an Estonian friend while I was in Tallinn because we had a hankering for Russian-style pie. It was a first time visit for us both but the serving staff were very patient while we got the hang of the place. You order and pay for your choices of food/drinks at the counter, then wait for the server to plate them up. There are menus in Estonian, Russian and English. There are a few other dishes on the menu as well as pie but, well - we were there for pie, and there is a good selection of those, divided into 'salty' and 'sweet'. Between us we tried a few, including beef, apicot and marzipan, mushroom, salmon and spinach, and cabbage. They were all delicious, with a doughy sort of pastry that melts in the mouth. You can wash your pie down with a selection of hot and cold drinks, both alcoholic and non. The cafe itself is clean and bright, and only a short walk from either the centre of town or old town. Prices are very reasonable for 'fast food', and if you don't have time to sit in and eat, you can buy pie to take out instead. Note that not all pies on the menu may be available at all times, so you may have to make more than one visit to try them all, but I don't think anyone would find that a hardship!
Great place for lunch. We had 2 pieces of savoury pies, chicken and tomato and chicken and mushroom. We also had a piece of blueberry pie between us. They were delicious, not pies as you have in the UK but more bread like text. We wish we had ordered more. Reasonable prices. Would recommend
