Ciudad Vieja is the archaeological site of the first settlement of San Salvador, founded in 1528 and abandoned after a devastating earthquake in 1576. Located just outside Suchitoto, the site features excavated ruins of the old town, including the foundations of a church, a town hall, and several houses.
