Tecapán is a volcanic peak in the Tecapa-Chinameca volcanic complex, near the town of Alegria. It offers a moderately challenging hike through cloud forest, with opportunities to see diverse birdlife and flora. At the summit, hikers are rewarded with sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean, the Jiquilisco Bay, and the surrounding volcanoes. The trail is well-marked and takes about 2–3 hours round trip. Tecapán is less crowded than other peaks, providing a more solitary nature experience. The cool temperatures at higher elevations make it a refreshing hike.
