Operation Bulmus 6 marks the location of Green Island, a heavily fortified Egyptian island in the Suez Canal that was the target of a daring Israeli commando raid in July 1969. The operation, involving elite Shayetet 13 naval commandos, successfully destroyed Egyptian radar and anti-aircraft positions. Today, the island remains a restricted military zone, but visitors can view it from the canal banks and learn about the raid at nearby museums, offering insight into the War of Attrition's intense canal battles.

Don't miss

  • View Green Island from the Suez Canal waterfront, imagining the nighttime raid.
  • Learn about the operation at the Suez National Museum, which covers the War of Attrition.
  • See the canal's strategic chokepoint where the raid unfolded.
