Muhammad Ali Mosque, completed in 1848, dominates the Cairo skyline with its large central dome and twin slender minarets. Built in Ottoman Baroque style, the interior is richly decorated with alabaster panels, chandeliers, and a large courtyard with an ablution fountain. Visitors can also explore the surrounding Citadel, which offers panoramic views of Cairo and the pyramids in the distance.
