The Mosque-Madrasa of Sultan Hasan, built between 1356 and 1363, is a masterpiece of Mamluk architecture. Its massive entrance portal, towering minarets, and four iwans (vaulted halls) surrounding a central courtyard impress visitors. The structure once housed four schools of Islamic law.
