The Mosque-Madrasa of Sultan Hasan is one of Cairo's most impressive Islamic monuments, built in the 14th century. Its grand entrance leads to a vast courtyard surrounded by four iwans, each dedicated to a different Sunni school of law. The mosque's towering minarets and intricate marble and stucco decorations showcase Mamluk architectural mastery. Visitors are awed by the sheer size and the serene, monumental atmosphere.
Don't miss
- Admire the massive, intricately carved stone entrance portal.
