The Temple of Satet on Elephantine Island is one of the oldest known temples in Egypt, dedicated to the goddess of the Nile flood. Excavations have revealed multiple layers of construction, from a small Early Dynastic shrine to a larger New Kingdom temple. The site includes a nilometer used to measure the river's water level, crucial for predicting floods. Visitors can see remnants of mudbrick walls, granite blocks, and a reconstructed sanctuary.
