Chimborazo Province is dominated by the majestic Chimborazo volcano, the highest mountain in Ecuador at 6,263 meters. The province offers rugged Andean scenery, including paramo grasslands and glacial peaks. Visitors can attempt to summit Chimborazo (requiring technical skill and acclimatization) or enjoy easier hikes around the base, where they may spot vicuñas and wild llamas. The area also features thermal springs and indigenous communities that maintain traditional ways of life.
