Tortuga Bay is a stunning white-sand beach on Santa Cruz Island, reached by a 2.5 km walking trail from Puerto Ayora. The beach is divided into two sections: a surfing area with stronger waves and a calm swimming area protected by a natural rock barrier. Visitors can sunbathe, swim, and spot marine iguanas, sea turtles, and occasionally white-tip reef sharks in the shallows. The trail itself passes through a dry forest with opportunities to see finches and mockingbirds.

Don't miss

  • Swim in the calm, protected cove perfect for snorkeling
  • Spot marine iguanas basking on the rocks along the beach
  • Walk the scenic 2.5 km trail through dry forest vegetation
