Encuentro Beach is a long, sandy beach known for its reliable surf breaks, making it a favorite among local and visiting surfers. The beach has a relaxed, bohemian atmosphere with several surf schools and board rentals available. Unlike the busier Sosúa beaches, Encuentro is less developed, with no large resorts, so visitors can enjoy a more natural setting. The waves are best from November to March, but there are swells year-round. Non-surfers can sunbathe, walk the shoreline, or watch surfers from the beachside bars and restaurants.
